Yes, that is a word. If you’re about to order a lovely new PC with Windows 7 on it beware that you might not get the lovely speedy new system that Windows 7 promises to deliver. This is because of crapware. The sheer volume of useless software that can come pre-loaded with new PCs can have a serious effect on performance.
In a recent study by PC Pro Magazine they found that Acer, HP and Sony, three of the biggest PC vendors loaded crapware that slowed down the boot time of Windows by up to 2½ minutes and slowed performance so much it was like the PC had come with the processor model below it.
But fear not because help is at hand. There are three useful utilities to rid your new PC of crapware and get it running the way it really should.

Hi Becky,
You are obviously one of the lucky ones, who’s PC were not killed due to the first malicious SP3 update.
I belonged to the un-lucky ones, and had to convert to Vista with the new PC purchased. Since Windows 7 RC was offered to the public I immediately gave it a try since I prefer to work productive on my PC instead of constantly having to repair crappy OS ware. Please read this article, these have been my first impressions of Windows 7, although still, also Windows 7 will be pretty overprized.
Did you ever consider converting to Linux OS? It’s a wonderful alternative. Not only that it is free, it is much more stable than Windows ever will be, and far more customizable. The graphic interface even may be “cloned” to XP or, in the meantime nearly to “Win 7″.
